Mark Willcox

Mark joined our team in May 2019,  To say boating is in his blood would be an understatement.  His Great Great Grandfather was a boat builder, his Great Grandfather was a Master Mariner (who captained masted merchant ships across the world in the late Victorian era), and his father was a blacksmith at Liverpool Docks in the 1950s, maintaining the dredging fleet for the Mersey and Docks Harbour Board. When not working at Wincham Wharf, he is occupied by his energetic 7 year-old son – Freddie – who keeps him young at heart! Mark has a strong interest in art both as a Collector and as a producer of his own works.

My Thoughts

Slipper provides an opportunity to acquire a distinctive-looking boat for those who want a small project, so it’s ideal for fitting out for your own requirements.

Slipper is a steel Dutch Barge, 30′ 6″ long (including the rudder), with a spacious stern deck and a two-cylinder, keel-cooled Kubota Diesel engine.

From the stern, enter through the galley, fitted with an LPG 4-ring hob and ample cupboard space.  Forward is a dinette which converts to a double bed. The toilet cubicle houses a sea toilet and there is also a Porta Pottie for marina or canal use.  Forward is a fixed double berth separated from the saloon.  The boat has a 240 volt shore connection and a 240 volt cabin heater for use when the shore supply is connected. New carpet has been fitted and curtains are provided.  The boat has had a recent re-paint. There is a pressure water system but a calorifier isn’t fitted, so it is currently cold water only.

Slipper is offered with a recently issued Boat Safety Certificate.  There a mooring available at Wincham Wharf if required
