Further Information
The Rum Wench is a 57′ Traditional tug style narrowboat with fantastic lines built in 2003 by Colecraft. Propulsion is provided by a 1969 air cooled Lister HR2 with Blackstone gearbox. She is a true traditional style boat with a Boatmans cabin at the stern. A bench seat to starboard can either be used as a single berth or quickly converted to a double. The Boatmans cabin also provides all the clever storage spaces as you’d expect. This then leads through into the engine room. This is a well maintained space which also houses the electrical systems in a neat and well laid out arrangement. A pair of side doors (2 out of 6 in total) open up this area and help provide light and air. Moving forward takes you into a walk-through style bathroom equipped with a Porta Potti toilet, handbasin, small bath, shower, towel rail and storage cupboards. This leads through into the galley area where you will find tons of storage and worktop space as well as another 2 sets of side doors. The galley is fitted with gorgeous oak effect worktops, a stylish inset sink/drainer, freezer, fridge, washing machine and freestanding gas oven, grill and hob. At the front of the cabin is the cosy saloon area with solid fuel stove, sofa with storage under, further storage cupboards and a work table. Doors lead out into a huge steel Cratch area that provides a sociable seating area that can be opened up thanks to two very large side doors. A floor hatch provides access to the storage space below and at the very bow is the water tank believed to be around 980 litres. Other features include inverter, battery charger, galvanic isolator, LifePO4 domestic battery and 630W of solar panels.
All in all The Rum Wench is a well maintained, homely boat with a traditional style and engine that will appeal to the enthusiast. She is on site here at Wincham Wharf. Please call or email for more information or to book a viewing.
